“Everyone has a story.” - How CNN iReport Breaks News With Social Mobile
Thanks to the rise of mobile technologies, today anyone with a cell phone can play an integral role in how a news story breaks. Tweets, Instagrams and other socially shared content inform our understanding of current events as they unfold. CNN’s Webby Winning iReport harnesses the power of this phenomenon by empowering users to submit their own content to help cover important stories. Webby Connect was able to learn more about the social mobile’s role in the evolving face of journalism from CNN’s Katie Hawkins-Gaar.
A wise man* once said: “The best way to complain is to make things.” Some of the most creative minds on the Internet took this philosophy to heart, resulting in amazing side projects such as Plumen bulbs, NSKY, and Timehop.

looking for investors for a sports bar in ashland.
which is really just an excuse to watch international friendlies on a Wednesday afternoon. we’d be a Bengals, Reds, and UK bar. basically because we have to be. throw in the Wolverines, Giants, and Tottenham because we want to. I’m not saying we wouldn’t serve Steelers and Arsenal fans, just don’t show up in colors and keep your mouth shut. as you can see we are short NBA and NHL teams. invest enough and you can pick’em. we’d serve beer and mixed drinks. and by mixed drinks I mean we’ll put ice in your liquor if you want.

Dating officially on hold
I’ve come to the realization that my weekends are booked until after the Super Bowl. Once pro/college football kicks off in a couple of weeks I’m on the hook for 6 games a weekend, minimum. Let’s start with the EPL. There’s Tottenham, my team of choice. Fulham for Dempsey. And Chelsea for Drogba. That’s not counting big time matchups and other random matchups. Let’s not forget midweek Champions League games. Then there’s college football. I’ve been watching Michigan games for 20 years and I’m not about to stop now. That get’s me through Thanksgiving. Then the bowl games start up. And of course there’s the NFL. For better or worse I’m a diehard Bengals fan. My brother is a huge Giants fan. Throw in two fantasy football leagues and NFL RedZone channel and you can imagine how much NFL will be watched. So from now until February my weekends are booked. My social life will suck. And my twitter posts will be heavy on saturdays and sundays.
Liverpool/Man U first half thoughts
awesome half. Liverpool challenging Man U the entire half. Midfielders making runs, crisp passing, putting lots of pressure on the Man U defenders. Suarez beating 3 defenders in the box and then sliding a pass under Van de Saar for a tap in goal by Kuyt. Absolutely brilliant. Then Nani with a WTF header toward his own goal headed in by Kuyt for his second. Half ends with 3 yellows, lots of pushing and shoving and Nani being his usual little bitch self. Carried off on the stretcher after taking a swipe at one of the medics. Classless. Liverpool with a well earned 2-0 lead.
